Authorities have identified the teen who was suspected of drowning in a small neighborhood lake in Petal on Sunday night as 18-year-old Cayden Magee, according to Forrest County Coroner Lisa Klem.

Emergency responders were called to the scene following reports of a possible drowning in the Petal area. Despite rapid response efforts, the teen was recovered from the water and later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Magee had recently graduated from Petal High School in May, a milestone that was widely celebrated by family, friends, and school staff.
